Hey, does anybody know how to get LabTech / Crystal Reports to properly display a custom report for a single client? We've developed a custom report for LabTech using Crystal Reports, and it works... but shows data for ALL clients instead of just the client we're trying to run the report against. I can't find documentation on this anywhere, and I can't figure out what's different about the stock reports (those reports "just work" and properly limit their result set to the client that was selected in LabTech).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Justin,

Hope all has been well with you.  Give me a shout about this reporting issue on Friday.  We are having office phones updated tomorrow so you might not get through.  I've developed a couple of custom reports and think I might be able to help.  Thanks

Thanks Jeffrey, I was able to figure it out.

For anyone else who stumbles upon this conversation in the future, the solution was to make sure your data source in Crystal Reports includes the "clients" table as well as the "locations" table. Furthermore, make sure they're named "clients" and "locations" in Crystal (not clients1 and locations1). In order to get the tables properly named in Crystal, I found that I had to:

  1. Log in to the SQL server from Crystal
  2. Add the tables to my Crystal file
  3. Log out of the SQL server from Crystal
  4. Rename the tables in Crystal
  5. Make sure the tables are properly related (refer to an existing LabTech report for relationship structure)

Again, thanks for the offer to help, Jeff, I may take you up on it if I hit any more speed bumps.
